If you’re like many families, it’s a family traditional to load up the kids and hit the road each holiday season to look at Holiday Decorations and Christmas Lights. If this sounds familiar, well we have got the road trip for you this year!
Check out the new Sandusky County, “Rock and Awe” Holiday Light show, located at the Sandusky County Courthouse, 100 N Park Ave, in Fremont, Ohio. The show will run nightly from Friday, November 25th, to New Year’s Day, 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
This show is a collaborative project between the Sandusky County Visitors Bureau, The Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce, the Sandusky County Commissioners and our premier sponsor, Croghan Colonial Bank. This is a fully immersive light show that will synchronize lights and props to your favorite holiday songs. Music will be played on speakers outside the building as well as broadcast on a shortwave band radio station that cars can tune to as they park to watch the show from their vehicles.
“The best way to describe the show is a ‘Trans-Siberian Orchestra’ concert on our County Courthouse”, says Peggy Courtney of the Sandusky County Visitors Bureau. “We wanted a FREE holiday activity to bring families together in a festive environment where new traditions and memories can be made!”
While visiting Fremont, there are so many other things to do for the holidays, including the Drive-Thru Winter Wonderland at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds, located at 901 Rawson Avenue.
Their drive-thru lights are December 8-22, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Fremont is also home to our 19th President, Rutherford B. Hayes and his twenty-five-acre estate known as Spiegel Grove. There are multiple events taking place this year including the “Lights of Spiegel Grove”, the “Hayes Home Holidays” tours of his historic mansion, Sleigh Rides through Spiegel Grove and more.
