Friends of the Park 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon

The fourth annual Friends of the Park race is set for April 19, 2025, in Coshocton, Ohio, with a variety of race distances: a 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. The event, which raises funds for the local parks, offers a scenic course through the Coshocton Lake Park, Downtown Historic District, and Historic Roscoe Village.

The race highlights Coshocton’s beauty, with the Half Marathon route split at the 5.5-mile mark. The 5K route, which takes place on paved trails, is especially popular with locals like Kaylee Kreis, a consistent 5K competitor who praised the community atmosphere and the cause. “Seeing the community come together to raise money for our park was something I definitely wanted to be part of,” she said.

The 10K route offers a perfect middle-ground distance, as experienced by Allie Reed, who typically runs half marathons but enjoyed the challenge of the 10K. The course is known for being well-organized and accessible for all levels of runners and walkers.

Sherri Kirkpatrick, the race’s course designer, is passionate about creating a family-friendly event. “We welcome parents with baby-joggers, kids, leashed pets…run or walk, we just want you to have fun!” she said.

This year’s event will take place on April 19, 2025. Runners can register now at www.Dkraces.com. Visit the website visitcoshocton.com to find Coshocton lodging, attractions, shopping, and dining.
