Sounds of Summer

Summer is upon us and what is more synonymous with the summer season than festival season! I recently had the pleasure of attending Stagecoach, a country music festival in Indio, California and I cannot stop thinking about how much fun I had! As May and June are rounding out, festival season is in full swing across the country. In Ohio alone there are over a dozen festivals and outdoor concerts slated featuring a wide variety of genres.

If you couldn’t make Stagecoach this year Fort Loramie is hosting its own version – the 43rd annual Country Concert – featuring country music giants Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, and Luke Bryan as well as favorites Jon Pardi, Elle King, and Bailey Zimmerman with the latter four having just performed in California. You can camp at the festival or stay off site and use their provided bus and shuttle service! Country Concert ’23 takes place July 6th through 7th.

If country music isn’t your preferred jam, then check out Inkcarceration, a music and tattoo festival located in Mansfield at the Ohio State Reformatory. The headliners this year are Limp Bizkit, Pantera, and Slipknot! Camping at the festival is also an option! The grounds have sites for RVs complete from hookups as well as single tent and car camping spots. Campers are welcome to use the complimentary shuttle to and from the festival. Inkcarceration rolls into Mansfield July 14th through the 16th!

For all of the Emo fans out there wanting to take back the scene, Taking Back Sunday is headlining the Sad Summer tour which will have a tour stop in Cincinnati July 19th on the ICON Festival Stage. The Maine and Andrew McMahon will also hit the stage!

The fun doesn’t end in July! August kicks off with a bang in Thornville! The Everwild festival will host none other than Bone Thugs-N-Harmony the 3rd through the 5th! Thornville will also host the EDM festival Sweet Dreams for all the Tipper and Lettuce lovers the 17th through the 19th. Mid-august, the 12th and 13th, country fans can throw down once more at the two-day Neon Nights festival in North Lawrence enjoying legend Tim McGraw at Jellystone Park.

Regardless of your taste in music, there is a festival for you in Ohio this summer! What more could you ask for than good tunes, picturesque views, and good people!
