Touch A Truck – August 10th

Get ready for a hands-on adventure at Touch A Truck on Saturday, August 10th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Downtown Massillon. Here, kids can explore fire trucks, police cars, and construction vehicles, honk horns, turn on sirens, and take photos. This event offers a unique, interactive experience for children of all ages, making it a must-visit for families.

Outdoor Movie Night – August 17th

On Saturday, August 17th, bring your family and blankets or chairs to the Massillon Recreation Center for Outdoor Movie Night, a truly family-friendly event. Enjoy watching “How to Train Your Dragon” under the stars. The movie starts at dusk, with free popcorn for everyone. Please note that children 17 and under must be with a parent. No pets, please. In case of rain, we’ll move inside the gym.

Junk in Your Trunk Sale – August 31st

Clean your house and make some cash at the Junk in Your Trunk Sale on Saturday, August 31st. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., sell gently used items like clothes, toys, and crafts in the Massillon Recreation Center’s parking lot. You can rent two parking spaces for $15 (members) or $20 (non-members). Set up begins at 7 a.m., and cleanup is by 3 p.m.

Adult Leagues

At Massillon Parks and Recreation, the focus extends beyond sports to fostering a strong community. Adult leagues, including seasonal softball, volleyball, and an upcoming basketball league, aim to bring people together. Winners receive prizes like custom team shirts and trophies. However, the real reward is the sense of camaraderie and belonging. A member-organized pickleball league and future MPRD-led leagues and tournaments are also available. An adult kickball league, new fitness challenges, and contests for seniors are coming soon. Become a part of this vibrant community.

Youth Leagues

Youth leagues include a partnership with Club Extreme Volleyball to offer top-tier AAU/Travel Volleyball for ages 10u-18u. Rookie Sports Club provides sports like volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer for ages 3-12. Furthermore, new MPRD-led youth leagues are also being developed.
