Meet Service Dogs at Great Lakes Science Center on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Start the year with a special event on January 20, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Meet service dogs from Canine Companions and learn about their incredible training and life-changing work with adults, children, and veterans with disabilities. Plus, enjoy free general admission for all guests from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Adopt a Dog During Canine Chemistry on February 8

On February 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., join us for Canine Chemistry. Local rescue organizations like ARF Berea and GRIN will bring adoptable dogs looking for forever homes. Chat with volunteers to learn about adoption and meet your potential furry best friend. While pets can’t join you during your visit, service dogs are always welcome at the Science Center.

Experience Dogs! A Science Tail Through March 30, 2025

Through March 30, 2025, experience Dogs! A Science Tail is a one-of-a-kind interactive exhibit that lets you see the world from a dog’s perspective. Discover how dogs hear, smell, and see differently from humans, and learn about the science behind their role as companions, protectors, and helpers. Race against a greyhound, train a virtual dog, uncover fossils, and test your hearing compared to a dog’s. The exhibit is full of hands-on activities for all ages.

Enroll in Camp Curiosity 2025 at Great Lakes Science Center

Looking ahead to summer, Camp Curiosity 2025 offers week-long science adventures for kids in grades K-6. Camps run from June 2 through August 11, with themes like space exploration, weather patterns, LEGOs, Cleveland inventors, and chemistry. Kids can solve mysteries like Sherlock Holmes, build earthquake-proof structures, or experiment with kitchen chemistry. Activities are tailored to each age group, ensuring every camper has an engaging experience. Register by March 31 to save $20. Additional discounts are available for siblings, multi-week signups, and returning campers, with members saving $25 per camp. Scholarships and before/after-care options are also available.
