Ohio Hills Folk Festival Returns July 10–12, 2025
The Ohio Hills Folk Festival in Quaker City, Ohio, is back for its 121st year. This long-standing summer tradition is held July 10–12 and offers three days of fun, entertainment, and community pride. Known as Ohio’s oldest festival, it’s free to attend and packed with activities for all ages.
Entertainment and Live Music
Music fills the air all weekend with performances on three stages featuring bluegrass, gospel, and country favorites. The newly relocated Festival Kitchen at Quaker City Park serves up their famous homemade noodles, while the Firehouse grills its crowd-pleasing Belt Buster sandwiches. Don’t forget to stop by the Country Store for handmade ice cream and vintage displays.
Quilt and art shows run throughout the weekend. Visitors can explore the Country Store Museum’s historic displays or watch live demonstrations. The Columbus Zoo will also make a special appearance during the festival.
Family Activities and Kids Events
Families can enjoy a wide range of free activities each day. Kids will love the daily bike races, pet show, frog jumping contest, story hour, dunk tank, and free train rides. Crafts, scavenger hunts, and hands-on fun make this festival a summer favorite for children across Southeast Ohio.
The festival also hosts a kiddie pedal pull, rubber duck regatta, and Horse Poop Bingo, along with games and contests designed for all ages. Activities take place at various points around the grounds, so check the schedule when you arrive.
Parades, Fireworks, and Festival Highlights
Three exciting parades happen throughout the weekend. Thursday’s Kiddie Parade features children dressed as their favorite characters. Friday night brings the famous Philip Carpenter Mile Long Parade, one of the largest in Ohio. On Saturday evening, the Queen’s Parade highlights visiting royalty from festivals across the state.

Cap off the event Saturday at 10 p.m. with the largest fireworks show in Southeastern Ohio. This long-standing crowd favorite draws visitors from across the region.
Local Vendors, Shopping, and Races
Craft and flea markets fill the midway with handmade goods, local finds, and festival gear. Be sure to visit the Welcome Center at Fair Street and Smith Avenue to grab an event T-shirt and tickets to the Rubber Duck Regatta.
Saturday morning kicks off with a 5K and 10K race through Quaker City. All participants receive medals, soft T-shirts, and handmade pottery awards. It’s a fun way to start the day before the parades and activities begin.
