Our recent adventure to Sizerville State Park was the perfect combination of outdoor adventure, history, and unforgettable scenery. Located in north-central Pennsylvania, this peaceful park sits within the vast Elk State Forest, offering scenic hiking trails, breathtaking mountain overlooks, and a fascinating connection to Pennsylvania’s lumber industry. Where Is Sizerville State Park?
Located about six miles north of Emporium in Cameron and Potter counties, Sizerville covers 386 acres and has welcomed visitors since 1924. After much of the forest was harvested, the landscape changed dramatically. During the 1930s, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) planted millions of trees, built park facilities, and helped restore the forests visitors enjoy today. Their conservation work transformed the area into the beautiful destination it has become.
