Fresh peaches, warm bread, and friendly faces welcome you to the Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market in Dover, Ohio. Held at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds, this weekly event runs through mid-October 2025. It takes place every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. Farmers, bakers, and makers come together to offer goods they’ve grown or created themselves. Neighbors gather for fresh food, live music, and dinner from local food trucks. The market brings people together in a relaxed setting built on community and connection.
Fresh Food and Familiar Faces at the Farmers Market
The Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market began in 2008 as a project by members of the Leadership Tuscarawas class. After two years of visiting other markets and learning what worked best, their idea became a reality. Now in its 17th season, the market thrives thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers (no paid staff). Every vendor grows or creates their goods, so shoppers meet the person behind each item. Each visit brings something new to enjoy, from fruits and vegetables to baked goods and handmade soaps.
“The Market is about more than just locally produced food. More importantly, it is about being good stewards of our relationships with each other, our land, soil, water, and the sentient beings we rely on for our survival. The Market aims to set an example that emphasizes mutual cooperation rather than competition, to enable our community to thrive and flourish.”
~ Mark McKenzie, 17 year volunteer

Farmers Market Becomes A Weekly Gathering Place
Beyond shopping, the market offers a chance to unwind and enjoy the evening. Live music plays while families relax at picnic tables and kids laugh nearby. Food trucks serve fresh meals, making dinner while catching up with friends easy. It’s more than a market—it’s a place to reconnect midweek and enjoy the simple things.
Cooking Demos with Lehman’s
The market hosts weekly cooking demonstrations at 5 p.m. inside the Clover Café. Sponsored by Lehman’s of Kidron, Ohio, these demos highlight easy recipes using seasonal items found at the market. Lehman’s specializes in tools for home cooking, food preservation, and simple living, making them a natural partner. To browse their products, visit www.lehmans.com.
