I’m going to declare my love right away—I love the Portage Lakes. This unique area in Summit County, Ohio, comprises several cities and townships, including Green, New Franklin, and Coventry. With its series of interlocking lakes, the Portage Lakes offers beautiful views, endless activities, and fantastic dining options.
Let’s focus on those eats!
One of my favorite places to dine in the Portage Lakes is Caston & Main Brew Yard, located at the corner of Caston and Main Street in the City of Green (if you’re getting technical). Whatever your craving, you’ll find something to love on their menu.
Caston & Main has come a long way, transforming from an old biker bar into one of the coolest spots to hang out and nosh. Brunch here is my personal favorite, and their menu has a fantastic variety of options. If you indulge, I highly recommend starting with a Mimosa & Bellini Flight. This flight includes four mini cocktails served on a charming little board. Pair it with their signature Chicken & Waffles, Shrimp & Grits, or my favorite—the Brunch Egg Rolls. These crispy wontons are stuffed with egg, cheddar, and bacon and served with a zesty chipotle ranch. With so many delicious choices, I suggest trying something new on every visit.
For burger lovers, especially those who like a bit of spice, I suggest the Original Brew Yard Burger. This hearty meal features an Angus reserve beef and chorizo blend patty topped with chipotle lime crema, pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickle, all nestled in a brioche bun. Bring a big appetite for this one!
As for the vibe—it’s on point. The decor and lighting are warm and inviting. Outside, there’s a cozy dining area with a fire pit and string lights, making it the perfect spot for an evening with friends or a romantic date night.
Speaking of unique, Caston & Main Brew Yard also boasts a fantastic bourbon room and an enclosed heated patio. Both spaces are great for hosting events like bridal showers, birthday parties, or any celebration that calls for a memorable venue.
