Its Time to Plan Your Ultimate Summer Adventure Kayaking NE Ohio Rivers

Explore Northeast Ohio as you kayak along the river, seamlessly at one with nature as wildlife and foliage dot the banks. The water spreads out in tiny ripples as you gently glide along the current, searching for nowhere in particular yet finding a world to embrace.

Let Paddle the River help you embark on this adventure. Established in 2015, Moneen and Brad McBride began Paddle the River as a way to share their love for the outdoors and rivers while promoting good stewardship of Ohio’s waterways and surrounding environment.

Whether you are a beginner, a seasoned pro, or somewhere in between, an adventure awaits you on any of Paddle the River’s three unique trips.

1.   Burning River Adventures

Beginning in Cuyahoga Falls, your guide will shuttle you upriver to your choice of three river trips: short-2 miles, middle-4.5 miles, or long trip-6.5 miles. The self-guided kayak tours on the Cuyahoga River, which is designated an American Heritage River, one of only fourteen rivers, due to its economic, environmental, and cultural significance to the area. Burning River received Traveler’s Choice award in 2022 for the fifth year in a row.

2.   Mahoning River Adventures

Kayak the Mahoning River from your designated launch location. Excursions consist of a short-3.7 miles, which is excellent for beginners, or long trip-11 miles for more experienced paddlers. Your fun-filled experience will end at Canoe City Metropark.

3.   Cuyahoga Valley Adventures

Explore the Merriman Valley, the gateway to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park,  in either a tandem or single kayak rentals. Enjoy the rich natural beauty of this scenic waterway.

Paddle the River believes in safety first and makes every effort to stay current with water levels and river conditions. Each paddler is equipped with a properly fitting life jacket before entering the water. Please refer to their respective websites for up-to-date information regarding your trip.
