Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park is where adventure and natural beauty come together. Towering rock formations, winding paths, and hidden crevices create a landscape that feels alive and full of surprises. Now, with the addition of the Falls Edge Glass Walkway opening May 23, 2025, visitors can see this incredible park from a whole new perspective.
Suspended above the sandstone cliffs, the walkway brings you closer to the park’s raw beauty in a way that’s both thrilling and unforgettable.
Rugged Rocks and Quiet Waterfalls
Nature carved this place with patience. Over time, wind and water shaped the sandstone into dramatic ledges and twisting corridors. Trails lead you through narrow passages and up steep climbs. Along the way, Minnehaha Falls and Cascade Falls provide quiet spots to pause, listen, and soak in the view. Some days the water trickles softly; other days, it roars with energy.
Trails That Challenge and Delight
From easy strolls to tricky scrambles, the park’s trails offer something for everyone. Some paths wind gently through the forest, while others test your balance and curiosity. No matter which route you take, surprises are always around the bend.
See It From Above: The Falls Edge Glass Walkway

Opening May 23, 2025, the Falls Edge Glass Walkway offers a new way to experience the park. The 137-foot bridge hangs above the sandstone cliffs, letting you look straight down through its glass floor.
The walkway was engineered with safety as a top priority, using strong structural glass panels and reinforced steel supports. Visitors can feel confident as they step out, knowing the bridge meets rigorous standards while offering unbeatable views.
Standing there, you’re surrounded by sky, rock, and trees. The sensation is thrilling—part peaceful, part exhilarating. As you take in the world below, don’t be surprised if you feel a little flutter in your stomach standing above it all. It’s the park as you’ve never seen it before.
