The best places for a shopping experience are often the hidden gems around town. They are the little places off a main road, but we are too busy flying by to realize what is in the windows we just passed.
I came across the cutest and most unique shop, The Frog Shop, based in North Canton, Ohio.
The shop is exactly what the name says, frogs. As soon as I stepped in, I was greeted by the owner, Kathy, and instantly fell in love with the atmosphere of her quaint store full of frog items and more.
From a darling green frog onesie to a toddler’s frog raincoat and umbrella, I was on cuteness overload. There are puzzles, games, toys, and more for the older kiddos.
Many handmade items are waiting to be discovered and enjoyed. And this isn’t a shop just for us ladies. That’s right, gentleman. As your wife drags you to go shopping, you will find clothing, a line of spices and rubs, coffee, and golf club covers. Or pick up a pair of frog boxers!
There is something for everyone and your four-legged buddy. Yep, our fur babies can be pampered with frog bandanas, bow ties, and chew toys.
In talking with Kathy, I learned how her shop was created. She and her husband have been owners of Pond Wiser, a pond and lake services company, for over 30 years. When people come in, they look forward to seeing the frogs in their ponds and immediately ask where they are if not seen.
During covid, she started thinking about having a frog merchandise store and put her idea into action through an online store. Since then, a storefront was opened next to Pond Wiser to display all the specialty items. She soon started finding vintage items and partnering with local artists and needed more space. This led to her husband losing his office (I must admit I chuckled).

I can’t express enough that this is a place you need to experience in person. From jewelry to home and garden décor to vintage items, cards, and gift wrapping, this is a one-of-a-kind shop, and each time you visit, you will find something new.
