Free Family Fun This Weekend!

Hey everyone! As we all bask in the season’s warmth, I’ve discovered a unique way to celebrate—Historic Zoar Maifest! This Friday, May 10th, from 5:30 pm to 10 pm, and Saturday, May 11th, from 10 am to 5 pm, I’ll be enjoying the festivities myself, and I’d be thrilled if you could join me. It’s a one-of-a-kind event that you won’t want to miss!

You are in for a treat if you have never been to Zoar. One of my favorite historical sites, Zoar Village, was founded in 1817 in Northeast Ohio by German separatists seeking religious freedom. Named “Zoar,” meaning “refuge,” the village was a successful communal society.

Today, it stands preserved, showcasing historic buildings and gardens that offer insight into its unique communal past. Strolling through town, I can’t help but feel the heart and soul of the lives that thrived in this vibrant community for over 80 years.

Celebrates Spring at Zoar Maifest

Zoar Village Serves Up the Taste of German Cuisine

Prepare for an authentic German feast with delicious brats and German potato salad from Canal Tavern of Zoar, and don’t forget to try the famously tangy Cleveland Kraut. Plenty of craft beers will quench your thirst while we bop to lively German tunes. It will be a culinary adventure you won’t want to miss!

Festive Fun for All Ages

The festival is a treasure trove of activities for all ages. There are plenty of art projects and games for the little ones to keep them entertained.

For the adults, there’s the German Car Show to admire or the option to join me in some plein air painting.

We can also listen to some fascinating talks, peruse the beer stein exhibit, and find a unique stein to take home as a memento. It’s a day of fun and learning for the whole family!

Dance Around the Zoar Maifest Maypole

One of the highlights will be the traditional Maypole dance. It’s a great way to get into the festive spirit, laugh, and enjoy good company.

Explore the Historic Zoar Village
While we’re there, let’s take a guided tour of Zoar Village. It’s only $5 for adults and free for kids under 11. It’s a fantastic opportunity to soak in some history while enjoying the festival vibes.

Let’s Make It a Day to Remember!

Remember, entry to this exciting Ohio festival is free and includes all the activities. Whether you’re a car enthusiast eager to join the German Car Show on Saturday morning or simply looking for a delightful way to spend a day with family and friends, Maifest has something for everyone. And the best part? It’s a budget-friendly event that won’t break the bank!

I’m excited to kick back, enjoy the spring weather, and enjoy all the fun at Historic Zoar Maifest. I hope you’ll join me for what promises to be a fantastic weekend full of culture, food, and entertainment. Let’s make some memories together at Zoar’s Maifest!
