The Ultimate Summer Cool-Down in Pigeon Forge
If you’re looking for the perfect summer escape in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, don’t miss Dollywood’s Splash Country. My family recently visited this family-friendly water park, and it quickly became a highlight of our Smoky Mountains getaway.
A Warm Welcome and Family-Focused Fun at Dollywood’s Splash Country
From the moment you walk through the gates, you’re greeted by a cheerful atmosphere, lush landscaping, and the sound of splashing water and laughter. Designed with families in mind, Splash Country offers something for everyone—from toddlers and thrill-seeking teens to parents looking to relax.
Thrill Rides and Water Adventures for All Ages
Our first stop was RiverRush, Tennessee’s first and only water coaster. This ride combines the speed of a roller coaster with the splash of a water ride—making it a must-do for older kids and teens. For something slower-paced, we loved the Downbound Float Trip, a scenic lazy river that’s perfect for cooling off and soaking in the view.
Kid Zones and Splash Pads for the Little Ones

Younger children were thrilled with Little Creek Falls, a kid-friendly splash area with smaller slides, gentle water jets, and shallow pools. It was hard to pull them away—they could’ve stayed there all day!
Clean, Comfortable, and Convenient
What really impressed us about Dollywood’s Splash Country was how clean and well-organized everything was. There were plenty of shaded seating areas, family-sized cabanas available for rent, and a variety of food options that included healthy snacks and Southern favorites. We couldn’t resist treating ourselves to pulled pork sandwiches before heading back out for more fun.
Guest Favorites and Sweet Treats
Jenny from our group said, “We had the best time at Dollywood’s splash pad. Truly fun for the whole family. Our favorite was the wave pool—it’s large enough to enjoy together, with life vests for little ones and tubes for adults. We also loved the cotton candy, popcorn, and mini donuts. But Dolly’s bubblegum cream soda was the winner!”
Big Bear Plunge and Safety First
Another water adventure we loved was the Big Bear Plunge, a white-water rafting ride full of twists, turns, and laughter. Safety was a top priority, with attentive lifeguards and life jackets available throughout the park.
