Ohio Ice Festivals

The Ohio Ice Festivals are the perfect destinations for some bundled-up winter fun. Enjoy ice sculptures, live music, ice sculpting competitions, games, hot chocolate, and loads of family fun all across the state. Embrace the cold and make memories that will last a lifetime.

The Medina Ice Festival in Downtown Medina:

Located in downtown Medina’s square, the Medina Ice Festival is a popular attraction for both locals and visitors. The festival is always hosted on Presidents Day weekend, which falls on February 20 – 23 of 2026 this time around.

The Medina Ice Festival offers a variety of activities, including mesmerizing ice-carving competitions. Guests can watch as artists compete in real time to craft the winning sculpture. There are ice-carving demonstrations for those interested in tapping into their own talent. For guests who would rather simply admire the art, there is also an ice sculpture judging. Along with stunning artwork, there is a beautiful ice garden for guests to enjoy. Not to mention, it also doubles as the perfect photo op!

While there are plenty of ice-related festivities at the Medina Ice Festival, there are also some warmer options. Downtown Medina is home to many local shops and restaurants. Guests have plenty of lovely options if they’d like a break from the cold. Whether it’s for a bite to eat or some post-Christmas shopping, supporting local businesses is a wonderful way to beat the cold.

The Glenwood Community Marietta Ice Festival

The Glenwood Community Marietta Ice Festival takes place in the historic downtown of Marietta. This coming year’s date for this well-loved festival is set for January 17, 2026.

The Marietta Ice Festival attracts thousands of guests who come to enjoy the beautiful ice sculptures. Each year, 19 sculptures are displayed throughout the commercial district. While the sculptures are enamoring on their own, there is a handful of other fun festivities for guests to indulge in. There is a live ice-carving demonstration by Tyson Whistler of Whistler Ice Works. The Glenwood Community provides fun games and other winter-themed activities for children and adults.

If guests wish to explore downtown aside from the festival, Marietta has plenty to offer. Along with the dozens of local shops and restaurants, the historic Lafayette Hotel is within walking distance of the festival. The supposedly haunted hotel is known for both its ghost stories and its delicious dining options. Guests who wish to keep the fun going after the ice festival can extend their stay in Marietta at this renowned hotel.

The Logan Ice Festival in Downtown Logan

Hosted in downtown Logan, the Logan Ice Festival is a fan favorite for all guests. The festival typically takes place in the third weekend of January and is set for January 17-18, 2026.

The Logan Ice Festival offers a variety of activities for guests of all ages. Children can participate in ice skee ball, but adults are sure to want to join in on the fun! There’s also a throne made of ice, which doubles as the perfect photo backdrop. It wouldn’t be an ice festival without the magnificent ice sculptures, either. Guests can expect upwards of 25 sculptures displayed throughout the festival, along with ice carving demonstrations. The Logan Ice Festival is also known for its iceless skating rink.

Not only are there many icy activities to participate in, but there’s delicious food, too. Guests can stop by the festival’s yummy food trucks or dine in at local restaurants. Live entertainment is just another highlight of this fun-filled festival. Additionally, Logan is less than 20 miles from Hocking Hills.
