Each summer, Lavender Trails in Orrville, Ohio, welcomes visitors with rows of blooming lavender, buzzing pollinators, and calming views. From June 27 through July 20, the field is open for u-pick bundles, weekend fun, and plenty of photo opportunities.
What was once a concrete dumping site is now filled with 64 rows of lavender. Owners Jim and Amy Duxbury took on the challenge in 2018, clearing the land by hand and planting without the use of chemicals or artificial additives. Their goal? Create a space that helps both the environment and the community.
Lavender Trails Offers Hands-On Summer Fun
During your visit, enjoy hands-on activities such as a u-cut lavender patch, a sunflower garden, a butterfly birthing enclosure, and a pollinator walk. Educational tours are also available. On Saturdays, stay for the ladybug releases—a favorite with families.
Lavender Fest takes place twice during the season: June 29 and July 13, from 9 am to 3 pm. Each event features local vendors, food, music, and lavender-inspired fun. Admission is $5, but early birds who arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. get in free.

Want to take a piece of the field home with you? Shop for lavender honey, syrup, essential oils, lotion, lip balm, and potted plants—all made or grown locally and available only during the season.
The Duxbury family also uses this time to support a cause close to their hearts. A portion of the proceeds helps the Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio.
Lavender Trails is open Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
