Stone walls and steel bars gave the Ohio State Reformatory its strength, but also its scars. For decades, it held hardened criminals whose presence still lingers in every corridor. Every autumn, that lingering past comes alive inside Blood Prison, where the line between history and horror disappears.
A Haunted Prison That Remembers
Blood Prison goes far beyond a haunted house—it breathes terror built from stone and memory. Every cell carries its own story, and shadows drift through the corridors as if alive. Legends tell of the warden’s widow, climbing the tiers with grief turned to rage. Others whisper of guards who once ruled with cruelty, their faces twisted into nightmares that still stalk the dark. Inmates long buried seem to stir again, pacing behind the bars, watching those who dare to enter.
As visitors step beneath the towering weight of the world’s largest free-standing steel cell block. The massive scale overwhelms them before they descend into The Hole. Below, screams shatter the silence, and escaping seems impossible.

Escape Room Challenges With a Dark Twist
The Ohio State Reformatory goes beyond the haunted halls. Its escape rooms challenge visitors with high-pressure puzzles and a race against time. In Escape From Shawshank, teams break into the Warden’s office, uncovering secrets before the bars slam shut. Zombie Apocalypse Lab locks participants in a failed experiment, forcing them to find the antidote before infection spreads. Soon, Cabin in the Woods will draw players into a chilling story where curiosity leads to consequences no one expects.
Each room hosts six to eight players, and admission costs $35 per person. Every ticket includes a self-guided tour, and guests can add a guided tour at a discounted rate when they book both experiences on the same day.
Choose Your Path Through the Madness
The experience begins with your ticket choice. General Admission places you in the standard line, while the Ultra Lightning Pass allows you to move forward faster. Instant Access gives you VIP treatment, allowing you to skip directly to the front. For those who crave more, the Touch Pass turns fear physical, letting scare actors reach out and pull you deeper into the nightmare. However you enter, once the gates close, there’s no turning back.
Blood Prison runs from September 26 through November 2. Tickets are available online only.
Fear, Fun, and the Bond of Survival

Family and friends cling together, their laughter trembling on the edge of fear. Puzzle solvers lose themselves in riddles that seem alive in the silence. Thrill seekers lean into the chase, hearts racing as the darkness tests their courage. And when the night feels at its heaviest, the prison itself delivers the final reminder: some histories refuse to stay buried. The question remains—will you escape?
