Fall explodes in color across the Allegheny National Forest, and with it comes one unforgettable experience after another. At the heart of the season stands the breathtaking Kinzua Bridge Sky Walk. From August 8 through October 31, Kinzua Bridge State Park is pausing its rehabilitation project to welcome visitors during peak foliage season. Suspended 225 feet above the forest floor, the skywalk delivers sweeping views of the Kinzua Gorge. Selected as one of the “World’s Top 10 Most Beautiful Skywalks and Viewpoints” by Culture Trip, U.K., it’s a must-see for leaf peepers. As the leaves shift to fiery red and gold, the view from the glass floor is stunning.
Kick Off Fall with Allegheny National Forest Events in September
As September arrives, the region kicks into gear with a full calendar of events. It begins with Art on the Island, September 6–7, 2025, in Smethport. Set on Hamlin Lake Island, this event combines classic cars, handcrafted art, and fall surroundings. A week later, downtown Bradford roars to life on September 14 with the Autumn Daze Car Show. Street rods, antiques, and vintage favorites line the streets while live music and food vendors add to the celebration.

Ride into the Season at Biketober Fest near Kinzua Bridge Sky Walk
The momentum continues on September 20 with Biketober Fest, where motorcycle enthusiasts gather for an afternoon filled with chrome, camaraderie, and crisp autumn air. It’s one of the region’s favorite fall traditions, bringing people together to celebrate the season on two wheels.
Bradford Brings Big Fun During Fall Events in the Forest
Then, on September 27, Bradford takes center stage with two significant events. The Marilla Trail Race challenges runners with 7-mile and 14-mile courses through rugged terrain. Except for one road crossing, both routes are off-road and feature gravel paths, dirt trails, and steep climbs. Runners cross a historic covered bridge at the finish line, then enjoy food, awards, and door prizes. Later that day, Pumpkin Fest fills downtown Bradford with food, games, music, and pumpkins, turning the streets into a celebration of everything fall.

Celebrate Halloween with Glowing Trails and Fall Fun
As October winds down, Kane takes over with a weekend of glowing pumpkins and seasonal fun. The Pumpkin Walk, held October 25–27 in Evergreen Park, invites visitors to stroll wooded paths lit by hundreds of hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns. Add food trucks, live entertainment, and games, and you have a festive weekend for all ages.
