Winter is a great time to enjoy the serene, quiet landscapes of the Medina County Park District. A great place to walk with your family is the 248-acre Alderfer-Chatfield Wildlife Sanctuary. Home to the park district’s Oenslager Nature Center. Hiking is encouraged, with more than 4 miles of trails that lead through diverse landscapes, including mature forests, wetlands, meadows, and prairies. The center seeks to meet the needs of all user groups. It offers access to nature displays, temporary exhibits, educational programs, and an indoor bird-watching area. The education staff is available year-round. Restrooms and a drinking fountain are inside the Nature Center and available during open hours.
