See What’s Brewing in Portage County

Planning an Ohio road trip this winter? Portage County is a foodie’s paradise and more!

Brews & Vintages

Bell Tower Brewing Co. and North Water Brewing offer beer connoisseurs such brews as Black Squirrel Oatmeal Stout and Belgian Wit to the mysteriously named “Geist der Glocke” and “Circle Round’ the Sun.”

Crafted Artisan Meadery explores “modern meads” (made with honey) – well worth an afternoon of sampling! All have menus you’ll want to savor. Jennifer Hermann and co-founders Ryan & Bridget Tipton repurposed a historic building of sacred origin to create Kent’s first brewpub, offering handcrafted beer and cocktails that perfectly complement a seasonally inspired menu. A great place to relax, enjoy, and celebrate life!

Wine lovers will be intrigued by the flavor-infused vintages at Cana Valley Winery, while Salvage Winery offers their own takes on classic chards, pinots, and more. Try a Hard Pear Cider at West Main Street Winery, Brewery & Cider House, and have Guido’s deliver one of their famous slabs of lasagna right to your table.

Casual Dining

Looking for a family-friendly spot? Kent locals hang out at Ray’s Place for their award-winning menu featuring the infamous MOFO burger and the quirky ambiance and eats at Mike’s Place – “proud independent and family owned.”
