John Gray: The Last Revolutionary War Survivor Called Noble County Home

As America marks 250 years of freedom, Noble County has a story no other place can tell. John Gray lived and died right here. The Sons of the American Revolution officially recognize him as the last verified surviving soldier of the Revolutionary War. He shook hands with George Washington, stood at Yorktown, and called Noble County home until his death in 1868 at age 104. Come see his photo at our local museum — and take a piece of that story home with you.
