Wheeling Park 100th Anniversary Kicks Off May 29

From May 29 to June 1, the park will celebrate a century of memories with a weekend of exciting events that reflect its rich history and vibrant future. The community is invited to join in the festivities and make new memories in this beloved landmark.
The celebration kicks off on Thursday evening, May 29, with The Grand Picnic in the Park, set above the park’s historic playground. This outdoor dinner event promises to be a sensory delight, featuring interactive food stations offering everything from grilled chicken skewers to fresh watermelon. Guests will enjoy a family-style feast, sip signature cocktails, and enjoy live music, stilt walkers, and more, all while taking in the park’s scenic beauty. Tickets are $100 per person and include entertainment, culinary demonstrations, and a keepsake photo. Exclusive tables for eight are also available for $800.
FunFest Friday Brings Music and Games to Wheeling Park
On Friday, May 30, the celebration continues with FunFest Friday, presented by Belmont Savings Bank. Starting at 5 pm, the park will transform into a lively festival with live music performances by MSM and Eli & the Mojo Kings. Festival food, carnival games, and a foam party will ensure fun for all ages, setting the tone for a weekend of joy and excitement.
Saturday Activities Celebrate Wheeling Park’s Legacy
Saturday, May 31, is packed with family-friendly activities. Early risers can participate in the King and Queen of the Hill Fun Run, a scenic race through Wheeling Park’s rolling hills. Afterward, the community is invited to a lively picnic featuring sack races, a pie-eating contest, and a curated historical exhibit at the White Palace. Kids can enjoy the fun zone with face painting, inflatables, and interactive art, and everyone can cool off at the grand opening of the park’s new splash and spray pad.
Sunday Wraps Up the Wheeling Park 100th Anniversary Weekend
The weekend concludes on Sunday, June 1, with two exciting events. Car lovers can explore a car show featuring vintage vehicles from the last 100 years, while golf enthusiasts can enjoy a round at the park’s beautiful course during the anniversary Golf Scramble.
