The 30th Annual Mohican Bluegrass Festival

Summer has (too quickly) come to a close, children have returned to the classroom, high school football season is in full swing and the crisp fall air has begun poking its way through every so often reminding us of what’s to come. Before the air turns cold and heads for winter, before the fall colors arrive transforming our little valley into one of the most beautiful fall drives and before the camping season comes to a close, Mohican Wilderness campground will transform from hosting your typical weekend vacationers to the site of the Mohican Bluegrass Festival.

On September 16-18, 2021, harmonious melodies will once again fill the Mohican valley as the Mohican Bluegrass Festival opens up for its 30th annual event. Nestled beside the Mohican River with views of the “mountains” on either side front and back, the beautiful white pine log stage is a site to be seen and has been host to numerous bluegrass musicians over its existence including the likes of Bill Monroe, Dale Ann Bradley, Steep Canyon Rangers, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, The Cleverlys, John Hartford, Sam Bush, Vassar Clements and many more.

This family-friendly event is three days packed full of music, food vendors, craft vendors and outdoor recreation such as mini-golf, river trips, horseback riding, zip lining and more. Whether you decide to spend a day or several, you’re sure to enjoy your time relaxing on the large open lawn in front of the stage while taking in the sounds of Seth Mulder & Midnight Run, Sister Sadie, Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers, Breaking Grass, Sunrise Ridge and more.

Be sure to pack your favorite lawn chair or blanket, sunglasses and of course a jacket for the evening as we are sure to see dips in the temperatures as the moon rises over the back of the stage making for an award-winning photo opportunity. Load up the car with your friends and family and head to Mohican Wilderness campground for the 30th annual Mohican Bluegrass Festival. You’ll be glad you did.

Tickets are available by phone and held at will-call or available at the gate for each day of the event.  For the music lovers who do not want to miss a day, buy a weekend ticket for all three days at a discounted rate. Parking is free for this event and children under 18 are free of charge.

Mohican Wilderness campground is located at 22462 Wally Road in Glenmont, Ohio. For more information, check their website www.mohicanwilderness.com or call 740-599-6741.
