Huntington, West Virginia is Redefining Adventure

Since they began in 1996, Heritage Farm has celebrated Appalachian ingenuity and grit. In that spirit, they have recently introduced new adventure experiences.

These include: TalithaKoum, a four-stories high, aerial adventure course built on the mountain overlooking the village; Red Tail Racers, a dual zipline course; Mountain Top Drop, a free-fall experience; Tree Rock Challenge, a multi-level challenge course suitable for all ages; Rock Climbing Wall, where you can climb to your heart’s content; and Mountain Rim Bike Park, where riders can go at their own pace and skill level over ten different trails.

Beech Fork State Park is the perfect place for relaxation or adventure. Enjoy the outdoors while making lasting memories. This 3,144-acre park offers hundreds of campsites, miles of hiking trails and plenty of exciting lake activities for the whole family to enjoy until the sun goes down. The sprawling 720-acre lake has 31 miles of shoreline where you can cast a line and catch some of West Virginia’s most popular sport fish.

Located 27 miles south of Huntington, Rustic Ravines offers deluxe cabin rentals and special event planning, as well as guided ATV rides. You’ll also find hiking, kayaking and canoeing, a 3D bow range, fishing, and a pet and horse-friendly resort. Bring the entire family and all your toys and get away from it all!

The Hatfield-McCoy Trails are made up of over 1000+ miles of trails and located in the rich mountains of southern West Virginia. As one of the largest off-highway vehicle trail systems in the world, the Hatfield-McCoy Trails are open 365 days a year and offer something for every skill level. Cabwaylingo State Forest in Wayne County sits on nearly 8,300 acres of land. ATV, UTV, ORV (such as Jeeps) and dirt bike riders will find nearly 100 miles of new trails to explore, plenty of parking for trucks and trailers and a trailhead facility with trail permits and Hatfield-McCoy Trails merchandise for sale.

Camden Park is a 26-acre amusement park that opened in 1903 and is one of only thirteen trolley parks that remain open in the United States. It is West Virginia’s only amusement park and is home to more than thirty rides and attractions including the Big Dipper, an ACE Roller Coaster Landmark, as well as several other vintage rides.

Adventure opportunities also abound in the downtown Huntington area. Decipher your way to safety at The Lost Escape Room. Grab a locally brewed beverage at The Peddler. Go retro-gaming at Old North Arcade.
