It won’t be long until the hot summer days will have you longing to be drenched with water. The solution to that problem is Wildwater Kingdom. Located on 17 acres in Aurora, Ohio, this outdoor waterpark has attractions for all ages. Start by climbing the 100-foot tower of Ohio’s tallest water slide, Thunder Falls, where you’ll plunge down one of three enclosed body slides or four inner tube slides dumping you into a pool at the bottom. For those wanting something totally on the “wild” side, Liquid Lightning takes four riders at a time on a raft 60 feet down an enclosed slide into an enormous funnel spiraling out at the bottom. Climb aboard your own inner tube for a totally relaxing ride floating along Riptide Run, the 1,100-foot lazy river. With a few showers along the trip, it’s the perfect way to cool off. On Tidal Wave Bay you can bounce on the waves and then relax until surf’s up again.
For younger guests, it’s always exciting to stand under the bucket at Splash Landing and wait for it to dump. In Coral Cove they can blast each other with water, climb on the giant floating turtle or challenge friends to a game of water basketball. For a break from the water and a change of pace, they can search for buried treasure at the Fossil Dig Site where shark teeth and sea shells are discovered with every shovel of sand or explore the Little Tikes Town play houses and toys.
Cabana rentals are available providing a comfortable place for all ages to rest out of the sun. Ranging in size to accommodate up to 16 guests, cabanas are not included in the price of admission. It’s wise to reserve a cabana prior to your visit, as they are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis. Several waterpark restaurants and dining options are available ranging from snacks to full-course meals. There are also meal plans available for single meals or all-day dining.
Wildwater Kingdom opens its 2016 season on May 28 and season passes are on sale now. Passholders enjoy unlimited visits all season long, free parking, early entry and bring-a-friend discounts as well as discounts on birthday parties, cabana rentals, food and merchandise. Platinum passes allow unlimited admission to all Cedar Fair parks all season long.
