Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 1 2/3 cups warm milk
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

To Roll Out the Dough:

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Blueberry Filling:

  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Crumble Topping:

  • 1 cup + 2 teaspoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Cream Cheese Blueberry Glaze:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 3–4 tablespoons reserved blueberry filling

Directions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • Combine warm milk, active dry yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Then, let it sit for 5 minutes until it is frothy.
    • Add sour cream, salt, and softened butter to the yeast mixture.
    • Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface until smooth.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes to 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Make the Blueberry Filling:
    • In a small saucepan, mix blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Simmer on low for 15-20 minutes until a jam-like consistency forms. Stir occasionally.
    • Cool the filling slightly in the fridge before using.
  3. Prepare the Crumble Topping:
    • Combine flour, cinnamon, sugar, light brown sugar, and melted butter in a separate bowl. Mix until crumbly.
  4. Roll Out the Dough:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Combine 1/2 cup flour and baking powder on your countertop.
    • Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  5. Assemble the Rolls:
    • Spread the blueberry filling evenly over the dough, reserving 3-4 tablespoons for the glaze.
    • Sprinkle the crumble topping over the blueberry filling, reserving some for garnish.
    • Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into equal-sized rolls.
    • Place the rolls into your Lodge Dutch Oven on their side and cover. Optionally, let them rise in the dish for an additional 20-30 minutes for extra fluffiness.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Prepare the Cream Cheese Blueberry Glaze:
    • While the rolls are baking, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and reserved blueberry filling until smooth.
  8. Finish and Serve:
    • Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly before drizzling the Cream Cheese Blueberry Glaze over the top.
    • Sprinkle the remaining crumble on top of the rolls.

This blueberry roll recipe from Lehman’s promises a delicious treat and a chance to relive cherished memories while creating new ones. Whether you’re a novice baker or a seasoned pro, these rolls will surely add warmth and nostalgia to your recipe collection.
